Abstract
This paper discusses the Ethnomathematics Program with an emphasis on digital information and communication technologies (ICTs), aiming to analyze the contributions of the Ethnomathematics Program articulated with ICTs to social transformation. This is a qualitative research study, of a bibliographic and documentary nature, with content analysis based on Bardin (2011). The study discusses how Ethnomathematics, by valuing the cultural knowledge of different groups, can contribute to a more inclusive and contextualized Mathematics Education, highlighting technologies as essential tools to motivate and diversify the teaching and learning process. The results indicate that research and advances in the area of Mathematics Education and the Ethnomathematics Program have been ignored, and that we continue to reproduce a content-based Mathematics teaching that disregards students' knowledge and the reality in which they are embedded. We conclude by offering brief reflections and arguments aimed at understanding that society has evolved and technologies have transformed our world, and education needs to keep pace and enable these reforms to be implemented to improve Mathematics Education.
